Adding a map to your directory

If you have location-based profiles, you may also want to add a map to your directory.

How to add a map to your directory

  • Click on Directories → [Directory name]
  • In the Look & Feel tab, scroll to the bottom of the page to where it says Map options
  • To add a map, check the Enable map box
  • You will be asked to accept our Fair Use Policy

Once the map is enabled, you have two options for how it's displayed.

By default the map will show on a toggle, which means it will be hidden by default and users will click on the map icon in the directory toolbar to show the map. This is a good option if you're including featured profiles because it will show them first (whereas on the map, people could click on any profiles).

You can also set the map to be always visible, which means it will display above the profiles.

💡Additional map settings can be found by going to Directories → [Directory name] → Design and clicking on Location display and Map.

How the map behaves on mobile devices

In the map settings, you can choose between two interaction styles. These only apply on mobile devices and control how users interact with maps while scrolling.

With two-finger interaction enabled, the map behaves like a fixed part of the page during scrolling. This means users can scroll past it smoothly without the map interrupting their movement. If they want to pan or zoom the map, they simply use two fingers.

With one-finger interaction enabled, users can move around the map using a single finger. However, this also means that if they touch the map while scrolling down the page, the map will take over the gesture and stop the page from scrolling, allowing them to interact with the map instead.
